Bournville Cricket Club 1st XI squad

1st XI

Captain : Mark Edgehill

Joined Bournville as a 12 year old in 1995. My first ever game was in the 2nd team thanks to a last minute phone call from Fred West (Aka Steve Franklin, not the 1990's serial killer) since then i have gone on to play somewhere between 300 and 400 times at a rough guess.
My 'Youth coaching' involved batting at number 11 and doing fine leg both ends for about 6 years, until the late Bill Lloyd and Mel Hoban  decided it might be a good idea and let someone else have a go and not bowl 25 overs a piece.
Once a promising Seam bowler with a mean inswinger best figures of 3-25 ish at Fillongley I have since left bowling behind and "tried" to be a batsman often flattering to decieve, showing some flashes of promise with a top score of 75 opening the batting at home to Sheldon Marlbrough but its been a barron few seasons. My real forte is 20/20, posessing what i would consider a decent enough average at the top of the order.  Fingers crossed this season one will be better, can't be much worse.
I had one season as captain of the sunday superstar 2nd 11, often winning games at a canter. I am now club secretary and can also be found standing at point where i have spent roughly 100 days solid of my life at the last count, trying not to break my fingers attempting to catch the ball.

I am well know for ending Alex Loudons cricket career and also inventing the switch hit, just ask Jonothan Trott and alex Loudon!!
